ENGAGE LOCALLY

Nature-Based Infrastructure projects succeed when they’re not only technically sound but also socially embraced.
LVF Lab involves communities in planning and stewardship, designing infrastructure and public spaces that people value and sustain over time.

Local knowledge about flooding patterns, habitat use, and social priorities informs better design decisions. Community engagement brings essential inputs that designers and engineers can’t access through data alone.

As well as building trust, engagement is critical because NBI extends into public and private realms, influencing property, access, and cultural values. Being in conversation with a community allows LVF Lab to improve ecological resilience, risk reduction, and quality of life.
