Emily Warren Roebling Plaza at Brooklyn Bridge Park restores access to an area that was lost for over 20 years. The plaza is located directly beneath the Brooklyn Bridge and is a crucial connection point between the DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights sections of Brooklyn Bridge Park. The site was revamped from a post-industrial waterfront to a 2-acre plaza, and also includes a 2-acre landscape restoration.

The primary design feature is a graphic paving pattern that celebrates the Brooklyn Bridge’s roadway deck above while also accommodating the robust programmatic needs of Brooklyn Bridge Park. Alexia managed MVVA’s design team and subconsultants, overseeing it from design development and permitting through construction completion.
